Making a 1.9 NA?
« on: August 31, 2009, 04:56:22 pm »
This sounds odd but we are looking at building a 1.9 N/A using an AAZ block. What will I need to make this motor have alot of torque. The Max speed of motor will be 100 to 130kph. and I'd rather not shift alot so i'm thinking i'll be staying in 3rd alot of times. I can't have a turbo of anysorts on it and the main reason is that in the 4cyl Mini series you can't have a force induction motor and I want a Diesel power VW for racing with. So Want do I have to do to get the most power out of it?

they exist in europe! 1Y engine code. There is one in my uncles yard that ran but has been stood a while. I doubt it would cost much if you sent someone to pull it!! they have larger ports than an AAZ and beefier bottom ends to cope with the revs aparently, the guy's from finland like them!

There is one in my garage waiting to go into my dad's Caddy! with a turbo bolted on though!

I have a complete AAZ Short block. Would I be Able to use the AAZ Head? or do I need a NA head? and would a 1.6 Exhaust Manifold Fit? Since I can;t use any headers or custom parts...The Motor is custom but its a "Stock styled motor" lol. I Need the motor to rev high and have power till she blows up lol.

The head is same in both engines. 1,6 exhaust manifold will fit, just like any 8v gasser manifolds. Maybe you could use exhaust manifold from 2,0 8v gasser?
