Is there really a diffeence iin the geometry of the driver and passenger side front strut housings other than the placement of the brake hose holding tab. I have 2 extra driver side ones but no pass. side spares which I think I might need.

They are exactly the same. In fact, some lat MK1 housings had the brake brackets on both sides of a housing.
