Hey Guys,
I have a 97 Jetta with the 1.9 AAZ. I have the fuel turned up a slight bit and the wastegate plugged off. I was out driving tonight and accelerated hard from a stoplight in 1st gear, all of a sudden I had a massive loss of power, and some black and white smoke pouring out of the exhaust. I shifted into second and had the same power loss for a few seconds. After that, everything was back to normal. Seems to be driving fine and boosting to the 19-20psi like it was in the first place. I pulled over and popped the hood to see if it was anything obvious and there was nothing that I could see. At first I thought I had blown the headgasket but it doesn't seem like it. What happens when you hit the internal governor in the injection pump? Any help would be great! Thanks guys!

unless you mess with the governor its not like hitting a wall, but more like a gradual power loss. i got a 1.6TD pump from andy2 that he tweaked the governor and its way different. i forgot one day that there was a limit to my rpms... lol... i just slammed it down and the engine pulled all the way to scream mode then it was like hitting a wall... then i remembered i had to put it into 2nd gear

Think that would cause white smoke? I'm paranoid as all hell about it now, even though it seems to be working A1...
Thanks guys!
