I see no one on Vortex answered either... Did you try calling a local turbo shop and ask them?  Maybe call the guys you got the rebuild parts from ?

yeh this turbo was taken apart years ago and i cant find where everything was written down. can you remember what torque numbers have you used? i read somewhere that on a t3 you hand tighten onto the nut and then add another 1/4 turn. i figured there was something similar for the kkk turbos....

the k24 is 28" lbs + 1/4 turn,
The k14 however has a MUCH smaller shaft size.

Better talk to a vendor to get the correct specs.

Nope, hasn't been on here for a few years.  Sorely missed also.

uh huh :'(
'82 Rabbit, I put on a euro vnt-15, 2.25" DP, 2.5" exhaust, the result.....it whistled.

I removed the turbo, made a toilet bowl 2.5" DP, the result....it was deafening. Now it has a homemade muffler up front and a thrush in the rear, the result.....less loud.

don't you need to properly orientate the nut for proper balancing as well?

if the nut is ground you do. i had a t3 that you could tell had been balanced as a unit because the nut and compressor wheel were ground together. does anyone else have any good turbo contacts if jake is not around?

thanks
