First run, IP problems.

I did my first full start with GP last night. It started right up after I closed the last injector line and torched the GP. It sounded strong idling, but as soon as I gave it throttle, it hesitated and stalled. There were a few air bubbles in the fuel lines, so I hope that is it. Otherwise I'm thinking the governor in the IP is stuck from sitting too long. I'll run it a lot longer tomorrow to see if that fixes it. Here's the video.

probably just air in the pump still.

last time I started a motor after a rebuild it took a while before the throttle acted right, it put out lots of black smoke for a bit too.

run it to get the air out, it is going to be rough for a while, dont worry too much about it.

A little trick some body told me that works way better than youd ever imagine is to drain the fuel from your filter and then fill it back up with tranny fluid.  This will clean all the gunk out of your pump and recondition the seals at the same time.  Runs really well on it too.  My 81 sat for 11 years and after I got it running I didn't have any throttle response and it would suck air and die. After the tranny fluid,  It came to life!!
