AAZ pump questions? WITH PICS
« on: March 20, 2009, 02:32:44 pm »
hi peeps, i got this new AAZ pump to fit to my ABL T4 transporter 1.9TD engine, and just wanna ask a few questions :-)

1. Is this the good AAZ pump, and not an ECO one?

2. Will the boost pipe bit from a GTD pump bolt in the top of the LDA, as its missing on this one?

3.Does this fuel screw look like its been wound in alot??

4. What does this little sender / soleniod do, and how do i connect the wires etc?? (middle bottom - see 2 cut off wires)

This is a semi electronic pump.

It won't work just like this, you need to modify the advance system before you try it. You may try it, but I am pretty sure it won't work.

like Hey said, that selenoid controls pump timing, just like the TDI one, you might be able to disable it and fit the guts of a normal pump, or get another pump and use this one for parts

1. yes
2. yes
3. it still has the factory tamper proof piece on it, so no
4. Timing control as mentioned. I'm pretty sure you would need to take the whole pump apart in order to modify it. You could try it as is and it might work, but I have my doubts.

Yes, there are AAZ pumps that are a direct bolt on.

There is another sensor in between the high pressure outlets (delivery valves)
