ha ha, I've noticed in the past that in order to get people to look at your *** you've gotta have good advertisement. like seriously right? look at all the posts that have like 5034 views! all have really attractive names..

So i did try to search this, but what i am looking for was hard to type in to the search.

I want to know if it is possible to do the whole 1.9 head on a 1.6 N/a.. would this be a good upgrade for it? if i were to do that, is there an oil passage that needs to be blocked in the head? Right now this is way out of my price range.. and piossibly skill range as well.. lol :P

just looking mainly for ideas and possibilities. lol

so waht do you guys got?

the 1.9 head should bolt up to the 1.6 block just fine, there is only need to block the oil return if you have a mechanical lifter block.

it would be an upgrade because the 1.9 head flows much better than the 1.6, but it will also lower compression a bit due to the larger prechambers making cold starts a little harder

I wouldn't do it on a non-turbo motor.  I doubt you'd find it flowed enough better with zero boost to make any positive difference.

Andrew

i remember looking at a cutaway of both the 1.6 & 1.9 cylinder heads, and the 1.9 is a huge improvement.  the 1.6 could be ported to produce 'similar' results, but definitely not as good as the 1.9.

my personal belief is that for mild engine performance, it should work ok.  it might even shock everyone and perform quite well if ported & polish in conjunction with the long runner intake system, and using a large free flowing exhaust system. the piston tops could be coated with a heat reflecting material as well, which would really help.  all of the extra airflow should really wake the motor up!!!

and as always, a VNT turbo would really whip the car in the ass in terms of driveability...  the only economical way of building such a motor, IMO, would be to use a complete 1.9 prothe head.  i wonder when he will start selling the valve cover with his head?  Smokey Eddy's build really turned out quite well... i think he has set a precedent here

Yeah i read his entire post and shot him some pm's. he has definetly set something.. Says the thing runs like TITS lol

I dunno if it would even be in the late future.. but it definetly sounds COOL

a ported 1.9 head, long runner gasser intake, free flowing dual outlet exhaust, and a Vnt.. that thing would be a rockin n/a! :P

I have an AAZ head you can have for free. It's complete. May or may not have a valve cover, I forget.

It's not in the best of shape, but I think it is still usable.

Come get it when you get those glowplugs.
