Ok,
First off, what are the major visual differences between these pumps?
Second, can a 1.6na with alt comp be turned into a td pump?
Third, can a 1.9 aaz td pump work on a 1.6td?
Thanks.
It can be converted over just find the proper fittings to put boost to the lda.The spring needs to be stiffer though,as its very weak. The boost pin diameter is bigger as well so mayube a cummins pin will fit in these.Ive got one converted over, but havent run it yet.I just tapped the little vent thingy on the lda (1/8npt)and threaded a nipple in there, then left the bottom open. You could also grind the pin like i did.
Ok, thanks! Awesome info.
Can anyone identify these pumps, from looking at them?
Why, here is a pic of the pump tops.
On second thought, is that pic worthless for determining things?
Essentially, I'm wondering, can the alt comp pump provide as much fueling as a real td pump? I have an NA pump right now with a vnt15, and cannot get enough fuel out of it.
If the lda has banjo fitting and nipple its a td or is now!
I *think* I'm going to spring for the dirtier of the 2 pumps, as it appears to be for sure a 1.6td; it has a cloth covered vac line on the top of the lda, vs a plastic/rubber one on the cleaner one (I'm just speculating, also...I have not actually touched these pumps. I am also thinking the dirtier shiny greasy one would have been out of the car a shorter period of time than the cleaner less greasy one.
