Wow, you've been looking for one for a long time, eh? Better increase your bid on ebay. MPH should be fine because you can change the gauge face to km/h.

Or go custom like I'm planning on doing:

You'll need a $65 USD alternator to RPM signal converter from Dakota Digital (model DS-1 IIRC) to make an aftermarket tach work. I'm pretty sure the Dakota unit is plug-and-play too (mine's still in mail so I haven't installed it yet). It's made to fit in the VW "W" terminal on the alternator.

You can just get a tachometer and speedo (odometer included) if you prefer to leave your existing EGT and boost Autometer gauges in your radio delete area. I'm sure a glow plug LED and turn signal LEDs can be wired in easily. Water & oil pressure warning LEDs can probably be wired in as well, or if you already have Autometer oil temp/pressure & water gauges, you're fine.

I'm going to have a plastic panel cut at a plastics shop in Langley, where I had my 4-gauge radio delete panel custom made. I can make another instrument panel for you, if you want. Just specify what size gauges and their location on the panel.

I'll get dimensions for the panel in a couple weeks (going on vacation soon), then I can email it to you so you can drag and drop circles (representing gauge cutouts) on the panel.

Are you familiar with using Layers in Photoshop or The Gimp?

that tach is huge... most you'd need is 6k rpm

but that custom cluster setup is definitely sweet :)
