my projects have been sitting on the wayside for a while, and I've been recently motivated to get back on track with them. The trouble is, I can't find the parts I want. For numerous reasons, including but not limited to; lack of availability, poor search/mechanical skills, poor selection of local machine/engine shops, poor wallet, poor motivation, and recently my newly discovered ability to light a car on fire with a tree.

I've got multiple cars in need of intake/exhaust systems, highflow nozzles, rebuilt/tweaked head/cam, stout short block internals, to increase mechanical reliability, performance, and hopefully sneak some economy in there too.


I've read about PP intake/exhaust, just in time to find out they are no longer made. I'm curious if worked heads/cams are still available from their shop, but haven't really seen any conversation about it, other than they are out of the VW game.


I'm also on the lookout for high flow nozzles, something I read about a while ago, supposedly much nicer fuel dumping capability, but can't seem to find any info on them now, or where to buy them. I've got a machinist friend who could, potentially recreate/reverse engineer something, given a nozzle, and some time.

It's plenty past bedtime, and I've not figured out how to explain my other needs, but generally want more info/suppliers parts related to reliable, heavily modified performance engines.

ahhh your in my neck of the woods.Guys use mercedes nozzles or ive heard of using gm 6.2 nozzles for some fun.The spray pattern isnt designed for the precup though so watch out.Your then limited to bosio(dont know if they still exsist),gtd(oem),greasework nozzles.Also there are some heavy equiptment engines that are idi CASE has some nozzles that may work.you can still get an intake.i think someone is making them.Oh yah get a giles pump.

the GM nozzles are indeed designed for a precup, I have been running them for about a year with great results.
I initially bought them because they were much cheaper (about $35 for the set) but they really do make a big difference in performance!

well no, but the GM design was similar to the VW one, the merc precup was vastly different than the vw design, and seem to do well enough in vw motors.

What are the benefits in performance when using these non-VW nozzles?
I'm just wondering, because alledgedly the stock VW idi injectors should be good enough for 65-70 hp per injector.

got any respectable machinists out your way dillenger? I've got work that needs done, and no one to do it, and without the equipment to do it myself... (blocks/heads worked over, fire ringed, rebuilt, etc.)

I use a pale calle industrial machine,in willoughby,oh.they do towmotor engines as well as high end race engines,they do bangin work and it decently priced.I dont know any small machine shops,but i do know a legendary vw machanic named bob mason.

For the record, Giles pump is top of the list, just gotta figure out what all is getting done before I get the pumps built to spec.

Also, I actually stayed up the road from you in kirtland for a while, did some time at harvard on the hill :lol:
