1.6TD into 81 caddy

I'm putting a 1.6TD into my 81 caddy(MK1) The motor mounts are different though. I was going to install the MK1 pass. side mount on the TD motor(looks like they mount the same) But I saw a friends caddy with TD. And the pass. side mount part MK2 and MK1. The installer cut the MK2 mount in half and then bolted it over the MK1 mount. Don't know who did this he just bought the motor separate from the truck. I'm wondering is this a good option or will it make the motor too rigid? I can see his point not to remove the pump but?
Thanks

I would want the rubber mount even if that means removing the injection pump to fix the bone yard cut. The vibration of a solid mount on the primary engine support is not good for the body components, spot welds included.

I will attest to the vibration.
I used G60 mounts and just last week I thought the front was bad so I swapped it out for the original hydro mount. Upon start up I actually had to hit the peddle to make sure my tach wasn't lying to me.
It was MUCH better.
I should have known as at one point I tried the inserts for the rear mount and took them right out it was so bad. Now I'm running hydro front, trans and the original hollow rear passenger mount. It's SO much nicer to drive.
One thing I did really like with the inserts was it made the shift linkage feel very solid. almost all the slack was gone and it shifted very nice.

I'm not talking about a solid mount! The guy took the MKL1 mount and cut it just after the bolt holes(on the MK2 center TB cover mounts) then he staked the MK1 mount on top of the MK2 IP bracket then ran bolts thru both brackets. My question is . Would this make the motor mount too tight-solid beacause it is twice as thick as the original MK1 motor mount bracket?

I am doing this right now , putting a 85 1.6 in a pickup i cut the gas engine r/s mount 2 inches past the rubber and bolted it over the org plate with the org holes to then welded it on the r/s . it will be 3/16th farther out but will fit. I was not able to get the proper ft plate no resone it should not work.

Adding images from madrogers
Not sure if he wanted this one, but...
If I forgot to change size for readability, I will change the size after I check them
