1.6 injectors in an AAZ
« on: November 14, 2008, 04:22:43 pm »
Hey what's up with using 1.6 injectors in an AAZ motor, I put some in my caddy and the 1.6 injector lines wouldn't fit properly. Anyone have any tips for me? Can you even use the short injectors in an AAZ?
Look, if corn and kudzu fall in love and have a baby in a lab under the supervision of scientists working in my employ, WHO AM I TO STOP THAT other than the CEO responsible for stopping it???

im going to use short 1.6 injectors in an AAZ head.
but you have to use a 1.6 pump mounting bracket and likely the pump too (unless they are the same dimensions right?)

I know that you need to keep injectors, lines and the pump mounting bracket all the same.

Early Canadian B3 Passats came with essencially 1.6 injectors on the 1.9 engine. Those lines would fit perfectly. I hopefully still have a set because I will need them on my engine.

so you think that on a 1.9 TD if you're using 1.6 injectors you need to use a 1.6 mount bracket, pump lines and the injectors? Is that what you mean?

keep it simple, the only difference is on the pipes, 1.6 injectors=1.6 pipes

at least I had to use 1.9 piping to use a 1.9 injector on my 1.6TD, should be the same

uhh yeah that's what i mean ....
*thinking*

Pretty sure you need the correct pump bracket. I read that on here somewhere.

It won't fit. The 1.9 block is taller then the 1.6. You'll have to bend a set of lines. I'd bend whatever lines are a closer match. Why not get the 1.9 injectors rebuilt? They are suppose to give better emmisions and economy because of the dual spring.

The pump mount is irrelevant.
