My 96 MK3 1.9TD Build
« on: October 26, 2008, 04:13:47 pm »
Ok, so I've had alot of headaches with this build...it turned out to be more then a couple days like we thought  ...But as it stands now, I'm glad i did it. The car rans great(however the idle is fast and can't figure out how to turn it down), i haven't burnt any oil. Doesn"t smoke on cold starts...I have all the electrical issues figured out, just have to fix them. I've officially started the body work and sending it for paint soon. There is only one problem...a 1.6L civic has more getup and go then me??? Might it just be the gearing in my tranny? or is my motor lacking balls, I know I didn't blow the donut out the other day and haven't replaced it yet. The Turbo sounds like its working fine....Does anyone know how to turn the idle down?

did you rebuild the pump?If so the splined throttle shaft needs to be rotated a tooth or two.If not theres a bolt running horizontally  on the backside of the pump with a nut on it.loosen that nut and screw the shaft in clockwise.this will lower the idle by pulling in the screw.
