Crank case venting idea?!?!?! opinions needed.......

been looking around this morning for a good crank case ventilation set-up for my 1.6td.....
my idea is basically this..
get a really small oil filter and base...plumb a line from the top of the valve cover to the filter...then from the filter to the crankcase (through the block off plate on the front of the block)

clear as mud???
are there any drawbacks to this set-up?
will it over pressurize the block if the blowby gases/crankcase gases are piped right back to the bottom side??
here is what I am talking about....what do you guys think?

what if I filtered it.....then piped it back into the intake manifold to be burned??? would that be a better way??

The crankcase vent is a vent, not a closed system. Without a vent, you'll force oil out everywhere.

so what if you filtered it....then feed it back into the intake??? kinda like stock but with better filtration?

Whoa. I work at a plumbing company and it is deffinitely interesting seeing how that water heater is hooked up. Never seen that before.

No, the filter is obsolete now, but you can find them used on Fred's TDI Forum. They're called Old Navy CCV Filter.

it would cost over $200 to plumb a set-up like yours
I think I may just build my own?.?.?.?

I would think the old super cheap Ford CCV filters would work just as good...the only problem is they are smaller so they would need to be thrown out and replaced with a new one more often....it would take a lot of $1-$2 filters to add up to the $100 they want for the billet aluminum CCV's
that being said the old navy and dynaflow CCV's are super PIMP...Ive just spent to much on this project as is...

do we need that filter on the top or can we just route with a hose to a catch can with a filter on top?

asking because i have a 2.0 valve cover ready to fit.
problem is the intercooler pipes that go on top of valve cover not giving enough clearance if i put the stock disk jokey setup found on the 1.6 td.

the 2.0 valve cover has the breather and filler on opposite side of the 1.6d...

doesn't excessive smoke/blow by be an issue without the mesh filter on top?
