I called him a couple of weeks ago to try to order something. He asked me to email him with my address, what i need ,etc. He said he wasn't sure if he would ship overseas because he is a one man garage operation blah, blah. So i did email him, never got a response. I tried calling again yesterday, no answer. I didn't want anything large and whats the difference between going to the post office for local delivery and overseas? I will try again monday morning

Just looked again, on their home page they say they won't ship outside the UK. Oh well.

Guys. Brickwerks is just down the road from me, and I half know Simon now as I had my motor there when I first bought it.

He is a really good guy but as you say, hes not a large scale operation so struggles to get to the post office everyday.

If your DESPERATE for the bits I might be able to get the bits from him and post onto to, as long as it doesnt become a hassle and I cover my costs plus a bit of beer money!

a group purchase should be made and shipped to a single entity this side of the pond to offset shipping costs, etc...  shipping little trinkets is probably more hassle than its worth IMO.

Guys.
As noted I am a one man band.
I do everything, clean up, answer phone, do the work, the paper work ordering parts etc..
Sending parts out of the UK commercially isn't that easy as there is a whole heap of red tape to get around, plus I end up with a *** load of paperwork for it.
I've not been around much lately as I am in the process of moving workplaces as I have outgrown where I am.
I am currently booked up for just short of 2 months with no space to get anymore work in.
basically I am really struggling to do my normal work that pays the bills without doing any extra, thats why there is a note on the homepage saying I won't send out of the UK.
My days at the moment see me start work at 8:30, no morning or afternoon break, I eat my dinner and get straight back up and carry on.
I finish when i finish, around 6ish them I am away to the new unit to get that ready for the big move in 2 weeks, I'm there till 9pm most nights, I then come home and do another 3 hours infront of the computer administering the webshop and printing orders for the next day...

There is light at the end of the tunnel tho..

I have had a friend knock me up a spread sheet for postal costs, inc. US and canada, but it is not cheap, but I don't do the volume of sales to be able to get a decent rate.
In the last day I have finally sorted postal rates into the EU.
I have been talking with the web monkey over the last week about zero rating (VAT) items on the site so I can send them overseas too, but the site doesn't have the functionality to do it easily (american system, tsk)
Basically, if I sell to the EU, thats easy, I just treat it as a UK sale, but if I send something to the US I do not add the 17.5% tax that we pay here.
I cannot do this through the site, plus I have to make a log of everything that has gone and keep records of it all. PITA.

I am looking to take on an employee soon, but I will have to get my head down for a bit and earn some money as a compressor, ramps, welders and electricians don't grow on trees!

So, I will be able to do it soon, but at the moment I cannot afford the time to lavish on sending stuff out of the country in dribs and drabs.

If I can do it in one order I will do that for you, and send it to one address and someone that end dish it out, but I can't do loads!
If someone wants to organise a group buy then come to me with a list I will get it together for you.

And remember, there is 17.5% VAT on the advertised prices that you do not have to pay!

(divide by 117.5 then x 100 to work out real price to you)

i have to say...

I ordered a Bosch IP timing adapter off Brickworks website the other day.
I had a couple of emails within the hour.
Then a status update the next day by email.
Then a confirmation of order email shortly after

The product arrived well packaged about 24 hours later

Was I happy - YES
Would I recommend and use them again - YES

Cheers Baxter  8)
