I put a 1.6TD from a mk2 in a mk3 gas car and kept the mk3 radiator , just cut the hose a bit to make it fit
Not sure what the mk2 gas fuel pump setup is, on mine I disconnected the power, but left it in the tank pump to hold the gas gauge float. Cut the fuel lines off the pump and extended them to reach the bottom of the tank. I guess I should have put some kind of screen on the end of the line.
under the hood my gas car had the little studs in place to mount the diesel fuel filter which was convenient
Theres a thread somewhere about using the gas fuel pump as a lift pump with some kind of loop to reduce the pressure. I didn't bother, but it looked neat and easy.
