how thick are the crowns of 1.6td pistons? would it be illadvised to skim the crowns a few thousandths to remove valve impressions from a broken timing belt but otherwise good pistons? not high hp just stock td. What about to lower the compression ratio instead of changing the precups for higher boost? too thin?

1.9's are appx 1.7 cm thick. I wouldn't think 1.6's are much different. Should be plenty of meat for any skimming.
