Pop tester additional uses

Can the pop tester that we use for injectors also be used to check the function of the oil squirters if removed from a TD block?

Personally I wouldn't' with mine:

- the 30 psi operating pressure would hardly show up on the gauge
- it would contaminate the system with engine oil

I'm thinking of trying to break loose a seized engine with one. Seems less crude and more controllable than  hammering  a block of wood on top of the piston. Comments anyone. Cheers Dan

You could, but I've always used a grease gun for that. Just weld a 1/8" pipe coupling to a glow plug body with the core removed and install a common zerk fitting. Fill the cylinder (make sure the valves are closed and it's not at BDC or TDC) with heavy oil and the start pumping in grease.

It will move  :wink:
