Hey, I'm going to be picking up a 85' TD Jetta pretty soon and i've got some questions. I'm new to the forums so i'm not sure if this is the right place for this thread. But like i said,hopefully i will be picking up a 85' TD Jetta soon and i'm thinking of what i should be doing engine wise. The car has the 1.6 turbo in it right now with the 5spd tranny. My question is, should i stick with the 1.6 that is in there right now and mod it or should i swap in a 1.9 which is in need of a rebuild and sitting in my garage. I'd be also possibly looking at a bigger turbo and intercooler.How hard will it be to swap the 1.9 in and what will i need to change? will the 1.6td tranny work with it or should i find something else?
