alternator belt replacement-help
« on: January 25, 2008, 06:39:38 pm »
I have the new alternator belt but the bentley manual does not really explain the steps to do it correctly.  Can someone fill me in please so I do not screw anything up.

Thanks,  John

On the few I have done I had to remove the alternator to de-tension the AC/WP belt so I could get it off to get off the alt belt. Replace them both while you have it all apart. Extremely retarded design IMO.

1) remove power steering belt.
2) remove water pump/ac belt.
3)if you need to. remove old alt belt, then replace.
