Arghhh still smoking? need help!
« on: September 07, 2007, 12:01:38 pm »
Alright guys needed some help with my retarded 1.5D

I've been tinkering with this engine to stop it from smoking(white-ish) constantly with no success. So far I've REBUILT the engine, new guides/seals in cylinder head,  injector nozzles, injector heat shields, fuel lines, fuel filter, and timed the pump to the best of my ability. I even bought another used(but working good) pump. After all that it is still smoking like it did before. White smoke constantly that burns the eyes.

Anyone have any tips? If it helps my engine is somewhat louder than other diesels i've seen. Is it the valve adjustment, i hope not cause I would need to buy the tools(more $$$).

White smoke is usually a sign of unburnt diesel. What do you have your timing set at?

Have you tried looking at your coolant level? You may be burning coolant. What does the smoke smell like?
