the nice thing about a diesel jetta race is we could do it on the street and at 70 hp the cops will not know we are recing just holding up traffic.

the top of the pump (mushroom) adds fuel with boost pressure or compensates altitude changes.

ECO diesel do not have this too meet regulations for 91/92 yr. NA 52hp, ECO 58-62hp TD 72hp from what I have seen. based on the fact I have driven all of those and 2 TD you got a TD slow, ECO slower and NA I am going to die merging on the highway!!!  (not really) just need to learn how to drive it.

yeah, looks like theres atleast 3 people, we should have a meet at a drag strip sometime, hopefully while no one else is there.  hehe.  i've done the stuff on the street, and it's fun but it's very hard to compare 2 cars on the street as there are more things you have to take into effect.

well the thing on top og the pump for turbo diesels i call the aneroid not shure about the spelling. i have a non turbo pump i had on the jetta and it worked good except it huffed smoke quick till boost came up without the fuel limiter.i never knew it was sensitive enough to compensate for altitude just goes from a limited fuel state till boost overrides the spring pressure and goes to full fuel (whatever it was set to mine was set to 8cc over stock and hauled ass but smoked very much till i got chicken about the head gasket and backed it down till i could see some smoke but not spy  hunter fog. took a couple of days and some hills till i let it alone)

my cars blue, but it's not factory td, pretty obvious since it's an 81, and the title of the thread.  my dads 85 which is a factory td is silver.
