It should fit, I have a vnt 15 on the 1.6 and I test fitted it before hand. On the 1.9L I don't think I would need to grind it for clearance as it is just a fuzz that needs to be taken off. The thing only weighed about 5.5 lbs, so I hope it is enough to hold our 1.6 in there.
well, it didnt. the oil line didnt let it even be put in the right position to be bolted up. had to trim the lower left hand mounting tab to clear my oil line, and im using a stock VW TD oil line, well the bottom half atleast..
once i trimmed the tab, and pulled my turbo it bolted to the block no problem.
there IS room for there to be triangle gussets on the bottom, i will be adding them. my dad said i may want to grind the welds down a bit too, and burn a nice fat bead on there, and do it hot, so it really penetrates..
it may have been fine from the beginning, strength wise, but i have this issue with building things overkill.. i come from a family of fabricators, and welders.
there will be no doubt in my mind that i will be able to pick up a bronco by that engine mount with a tractor after im done with it
hell, like i said, the mount is probably fine, but being that if the mount breaks, my turbo is TOAST.. i dont have enough money for a new turbo, let alone a VNT.. so im going to make it clear my turbo so i can take the turbo off with the mount installed, and that it wont break, and leave the cold side of my turbo broken to bits.. lol.
that was the one issue i saw with this mount. if it ever breaks, its gonna wipe out your VNT..
one thing i was thinking of, did you fit it to a 1.6 with a VNT15? or a GT1749VNT? mines the 1749 variation.. maybe it has a tad bit bigger cold side?
anyways, i thought it was a bit weird when it didnt bolt up to my engine.. it should have, ive seen pics of it bolted to a 1.6 with a VNT hanging off the back, and clearing the mount..
