oh no, flat black needs to be washed all the time. its ridicuious how easy it is to get it dirty now. but atleast the rear doesnt get black from soot anymore. it kinda matches the paint this way.

My wife hates when I get the flat black out. I tell her its how you know a car is fast:D I admittidly don't wash the car to often. Where I live it is about 1/2 an hour to the closest interstate highway and mostly dirt roads all I would get done is washing so I don't do it much.

its an IC out of a volvo 740. i would not suggest that anyone else tries to use one of these. it works great and everything, but its just too damn big to put in a rabbit. i had to do some serious modifying to make it fit.

yea, im in the same boat. my car sees as many dirt/gravel roads as it does paved ones. and the only reason i chose flat black is cause it was 96 cents a can at wal-mart. and its soo much easier to make a nice rattle can paint job with flat paint then with gloss paint.

What all did you have to do to your front end or the IC to get it to fit? I take it you don't have AC? I have a 740 intercooler and a much smaller one I picked up a while ago -- haven't tried test-fitting either yet, but space seems very limited.

lol, i scored those pristene recaros from a buddy for 150 bucks.. they came from a 2 door something from the 90's i love those seats, there so comfy. and they are the most expensive part of the whole car. and window tint is coming after alaska. But my jetta is already set up w/ tint, 17's & low pros, and some serious suspension. ive never had a car stick to the road better. im pretty sure im gonna build a diesel to swap into my jetta also. it would be way more sexy with a rattlin' smoker under the hood.

im pretty sure this is a 17, they had the 15's on the 90 horse ALH and they had the 17's on the 110 horse ALH's. and i did some looking into it and this turbo came off a 110 horse engine.

lol, i had to do some extensive work with the grinder and cut off wheel. the distance between the bottom of the core support and the top, 12 inches and a little. the intercooler is 15.5 inches tall and it just BARELY fits in front of the radiator. i actually have a scoop so to speak of right under my bumper. the bottom 3 inches of the intercooler sticks out of it. i almost couldnt bring myself to cut up my core support, but i really wanna do a round clip conversion.. i dig those.
