Carb cleaner is wonderful stuff for giving you cancer, dissolving assorted congealed crap, gummed oils, varnish, plastics, etc.
Has anyone had any joy with unsticking the vane pump blades in the Bosch VE diesel pump with this witches brew? Or are the assorted seals in the pump destroyed by this stuff? :?
No. I don't inhale!
Diesel purge would probably be a safer option

1x and even Giles has said that the diesel purge is a little dry, so add some kind of lube. veggie oil or bio?
carb cleaner would cause havoc on all the rubber seals!
The blades get stuck from sitting with old fuel in them or running poor quality fuels, veggie oil etc.
You can sometimes get them unstuck by filling the pump manually with a good lubricant and spinning it over without the engine firing.
You'll know the blades are stuck if the pump will not pull fuel into itself or if it's having hard times starting and low power. I think it's possible for only a few of the blades to stick, but I'm not sure.
