ARP part #s

Head Studs..........................251-4701
Main Studs...........................204-5402
Con Rod bolts 1.6 and 1.7......104-6002
Trans ring gear bolt kit 020 ...204-3001
Oil pump bolts.......................661-1014
I assume the head stud # is the 12mm stud. Some 1.6's had 11mm I guess.

Correct, early '81 1.6L had 11mm Allen-head bolts.  Supposedly the gassers' ARP kit will work with them.  I'll find out in a few days.

I was told 1.5's had 11mm and any 1.6's went with 12mm

we need to clear this kinda thing up before someone get burned on shipping and re-stocking fees

Maybe you aren't looking hard enough. I get plenty of hits for 251-4701 using google, even from ARP's own web site. It's even listed in your link above, well the second link at least. I'll give you a hint, you aren't looking for them under VW.

If u RECHECK in the ARP catalog.....  the part number says 204 in the catalog ...  NOT 251..(4701) remaining the same...

and i just did a google search for 251-4701.... and only MJM autohaus says they are for vw 1.6 diesel...all the other results say they are for some ford cosworth...

and i did a 204-4701 google search and it says.. this part number is for arp studs for 1.8L 2.0L 8V golfII...

so whci ones am i suppose to go forrr??

Ford Cosworth. 251-4701 If you are worried, that's what I have installed in my engine. The cheapest place when I got mine was Summit Racing.

You get the studs, the washers, and nuts, and even some of their lube. The only thing you need is an allen wrench to put them in the head. Good in 12 mm 1.6 and AAZ blocks.
