• I have recently picked up a 1994 VW 1.9L TD and it is well over due for a Valve lash but i don't have the specs and i do not have a turning tool or lock pin and I was wondering if anyone could help me on this.

• Your engine has hydraulic lifters... no need to set the valve lash.

  No lash needed like vince said. If the engine ticks, it's either a bad lifter or worn injectors.
