  It's all electronically controled on a TDI.

  This pump is set up for stock/low boost or fuel efficiency minded mTDI applications, and runs great with no smoke.  It ran strong enough to break the 020 tranny in the previous owner's Mk3 Golf.  These pumps can handle higher boost levels if the smoke screw is turned up - the compromise being increased smoke off boost...  But an lda can be added if plans change to a performance based build...
