Are you sure? Do you have aftermarket head?
1,9 HG will fit directly to engines with hydraulic lifters. You can easily make it fit to solid lifter engine too, just block the extra hole with piece of rubber.
There is original turbo engines with solid lifters from factory.

Hydraulic does not have visible springs right? they got this call "pusher" above/around the spring right? Thats what i have, and the guy at the shop came with a head gasket that was the same as my old gasket and he told me that this one was before 86 or something.

i had a factory original 1.6TD mech engine in an 86. last year that they sold mech engines. I must say that car had some serious low end grunt. wasn't tuned for revving, but it could haul a car full of 'heavy set' people(5x200lbs or more) and still accelerate as if it was empty, but once 3k rpm hit, there was no balls, so next gear and away she went.

i still miss that car!!!
you can't use a hydraulic head on a mech block as far as i know.

Look at this pic, see the big hump in the middle between the injectors #2 and #3? If you look to the left, there's another smaller hump between injector 1 and 2. Every hydraulic head has these two humps. If there's only one big hump in the middle, it's a mechanical head.

Mechanical AMC aftermarket heads have two humps. The smaller one is not drilled.

The lifter is above/around valve springs. Mech lifter has separate adjusting blocks between lifter and cam.

Yes looks like the one i got, but on the cam shaft bearings you have 3 bolts in the center, i don't have those...

That's because it's a picture of a 1.9TD head. 1.6TD is pretty much the same except for those studs and intake/exhaust ports.

ok i see!
But hey listen up
i put my engine back, but apparently when i tried to start the engine the wheel on the camshaft have moved a little because of not tightening it enough, so now my valves has hit the pistons several times, but since the valves goes straight down to the pistons, any of you got experience if i can just time it again and run? Or do you think piston/valves are broken now, i'm not taking it apart to inspect, i'll rather just change the engine to a real 1.6 TD with diesel pump with "UFO"...

Looks like your intake valves on 1 and 4 touched down for sure... did it warp the valve(s) ??

They look ok, and passed my leak test...
