My used 2003 Jetta TDi only had one electronic key available from the previous owner.
The VW manual says the key is only available from the dealer and must be programmed by them. Its a $300 key :!:
Anyone know if a used key from a wreck could be programmed to match
my existing key ?
Secondly, are these keys available from after-market sources ?
advise,
Bill.
If its the same as here, it has to be from roughly the same year and run on the same frequency, one way of checking is if the buttons look the same - early ones had oval shape to the buttons, later were rectangular. Then yes it does have to programmed and by dealer, not vag-com - $$$
