Hi new to this forum,I've noted various links about turboing the mk1 caddy 1.6 diesel, but nothing on the mk11 caddy/felicia,1.9 diesel. Can it be done? is it straight forward? would a complete engine swap be easier?
any info would be very gratefull.
cheers Herb.
It can be done easily
Just put a vw turbo exhaustmanifold and turbo on it and rebuild a turbo intake manifold and bolt it up together with an older style bosch injection pump with adjustable fuelscrew on. If you dont rebuild the intake it will not clear the hood.
And you will have to take the oilpan down and weld a oil return in it for the turbo. And make a new connection on the exhaust to fit the turbo.
I ran that config before and it worked great.
I have more pics of my 1999 Caddy pickup (same as skoda) if you want to see how I did it. Here´s one. But everything is rebuilt now for a bigger turbo and intercooler etc...
