But I noticed that it didn't mention a change in block/rod/piston alloy from naturally aspirated to turbocharged anywhere in the paper.
Did I miss it, was it just not mentioned (Seems to me like it would have been?), or did it not really happen as a transition between NA to turbo?

the pdf scanned book that i found has in it that they did used better alloy's for piston rings (more chromium) heat resistant head, and a stronger crankshaft. can't remember off the top of my head if they first began to use better pistons though...
