:? Hey, anyone knows what the output of the voltage stabilizer ( the three legged IC Chip looking thing on the back of the dash's PC Board) is supposed to be? This is the supply for the water and fuel guages.
Thanks!
I don't know, never seen one before, but it sounds like a standard voltage regulator IC. I may be able to determine the output voltage from the part number, what number is printed on the case? Some "normal" numbers are LM7805 or LM340-T5 which are both 5 volt output.
 It is an ITT chip, the closest thing that comes up is an audio amp. I know that it is less than 12 volts, just do not know how much less. Searching the web got me to a site for a '83 Vanagen, which said "10.5 to 11.5 volts". Does not sound stabilized to me. I know that the voltage "Viberater" in American cars put out 5 or 7 volts, but what does my '81 Caddy wish for? Any help would be nice!
