Peloquin 80% kit

I have the 4 speed auto, and it simply sucks while trying to turn with throttle, or take off in a straight line...heck it sucks.
Now it sucks a bit less
basically a re-post of what I put on tdiclub.com, but I thought I'd share here.
Ok guys, had the 80% kit installed, works as advertised virtually 0 torque steer, I can now actually punch it in a corner and the wheels make the car move instead of smoking off the inside wheel. The car wants to go alot more straight down the rutted up highway too, it is a nice feeeling. Steering seems to be a bit firmer in the corners and you have to be slightly more active while comming out of a corner as the wheel doesn't seem to "snap" back as fast. The car seems to go toward the inside of a corner when nailing it in a turn instead of pushing you out of the corner nice bang for the buck.
I tried one wheel in gravel and one on the road, the car goes straight with very little correction needed to the steering wheel, and hauls butt instead of just standing still spining in the gravel. The wheel in the gravel still spins a bit, but not like before.
You make life easier by removing the entire axle, and my passenger side one had about 6mm of play in the inner CV, so it was time for a change there!

I'll be sure to indeed, I have winter tires I run anyway so it should be nearly unstopable this winter.
I'm really loving it...I think I need an excuse to go for a drive hahaha!

mines fun in the rain,at least ya get "posi action"
winter will tell me more though,highly recommended mod
and peloquin said u can run a 80% kit with 90mm cv's too
just dont have a lowered car
you can grind some off the ends of the cv shafts where the circlip is,so it doesnt contact the peloquin setup
i ran it for a while than i had each driveshaft out+i ground some off the end for safety

yes, update.
When it was raining the other day I took the car out for a run
I can put my foot down to the floor, the front right tire breaks loose, then instantly the front left takes over thent he power sort of equalizes between the two of them.
Long story short, it rocks, and the insane torque steer is reduced to a level that you could drive a drag race with your tongue (after sanitizing the steering wheel).

i dont have any pics of the install,sorry
they give you different cones and shims for behind the cv flanges,and that preloads the side gears in the diff a little more,basically
and even the cv flange compressor tool is included too
its a good cheap budget setup
i did a 3rd gear burnout today with lots of smoke,and it didnt single out till the last 20 feet where it started to get traction
theres a stop sign at the peak of a hill and if you get em goin you can keep bangin gears and rolling backwards down the hill as you are smokin them in forward gears

well i got it into 3rd and put on the ebrake for a second
then the tire smoke poured out of each wheelwell
it probably burned em for 75-80 feet
i needed new tires anyways

Does this only work for autos? Can you install it in any diff or does it need a factory 20% or the like?

contact peloquins to find out what will work with your tranny. I just sent in my vin and got confirmation of the kit that would work. It won't work on the O2J
so no cheap solution for the 5spd tdi guys.

it works on the 020 transaxles that have the big nasty springs that preload the inner cv flanges on the trans
most transaxles with this setup in them have green steel painted rings that the inner cv flange seal presses into
thats a quick way to id a "limited slip" trans

i got a good deal on a 5 speed tranny. $200 bucks with a 0.71 5th gear and the 80% peloquin kit installed... now to install it into my car
i can't wait.. with everything everyone is saying i'm sure i will absolutely love it!!!
