I have a 97 1.9 and it started spraying fuel out of this valve when you rev it up. It is under the black rubber cover thingy. Does anyone know what this is or what is the problem.
This picture shows with the cover on it.

This has the cover off it.
pic is kinda blurry, but it could be leaking at the fuel line?? :?
No it is not a leak. It will spray out of the center of the siver thing in the middle of the second picture above the fuel line connection. In the first picture it has a rubber cover on it.
There is a leaking o-ring Inside the pump's top cover, when it leaks it spills out the "vent" Pictured. To repair this it requires the top half of the pump to be removed and rebuilt. Most places won't prefrom this repair on the engine.
If its not making a big mess then I wouldn't worry about it,nothing major will be affected/damaged.Ifs its dripping on the ground or the fumes are entering the car then have it fixed. This is only my 2 cents .
Add your location to your profile, others in your area may chime in and point you to a shop near you
mine is leaking from there too, it makes a mess and sprays on the coolant hose blew which will start to eat away at them. gotta get it fixed soon, might just buy a new one.
