I took the cover off my 1.6TD pump last night to look at the boost pin and star wheel and I noticed there was about two-three tablespoons of engine oil on top of the diaphragm.
Obviously, it's coming from the boost line from the intake elbow after the turbo, but I'm not sure if that's normal or not... FWIW, I've driven it for around 16k miles without opening it up and the turbo was rebuilt recently...
I did the same thing today, and also had oil on my diaphragm, not that much, but still noticeable....
But my K14 leaks oil on the compressor side, so my guess is that that's source of my oily diaphragm...
i get that too, i think alot of it is because of how the crank case vent dumps right into the turbo, that gets oil all through the intake tract, i've actually noticed small bits of oil at my boost gauge. i think this is pretty normal to be honest... althought i definetly plan on moving the crank ven to dump into a bottle or on to the ground
if you look at the lda it has a very good seal i dont think that the oil would go through the rubber. if it was ontop probably but i had oil on the pin side and never figured out what it was. i wouldnt worry about it. maybe someone put a bit of oil in it for longevity because its constantly moving. just my 2 cents.
