today I bought an isuzu p'up diesel IP for $10, when I was pulling it it looked like a bosch but it says diesel kiki licenced by bosch, I read up on it, it supposedly has a 10mm plunger and the parts are interchangable with german bosch.
the question is, is the thing on the top an lda, turbo boost enrichment thing?
I was hoping to graft the lda from this and the 10mm plunger to a vw housing.
the isuzu pup had no turbo, but the IP has an lda, maybe.
url of pump picture here....

it may have a straight pin in it,but all the good lda stuff could be put in
i dunno if that stuf can be used on real bosch pumps
they use alot of stuff stolen,i mean liscensed by bosch on japanese stuff
i have that pump theres just a bunch off springs in there that didnt look like any sort of fuel enrichment.
hmmm... so its basically the same as a cosmetic mod?
My guess would be that the japanese bought a bunch of turbo injection pumps (or stole them), and made them into either turbo or n/a. One single part for both types.
Could we not then assume that if you had a pump with the LDA, that it could be easily swapped in?
they are "like " the bosch pumps, its like getting a knockoff in chinatown, you cant tell but its different upon closer inspection, tear it down and compare it for kicks :?:
That stamped steel top looks just like a governor cover I have that is an atmospheric compensator.
Inside, there is an airtight, sealed, thin-walled metal bellows. The bellows have a fixed quantity of air inside, so a change to atmospheric pressure (allowed to surround the bellows) makess the bellows compress at low altitude (greater pressure) or expand at high altitude (lower atmospheric pressure). The bellows are fixed on top, but free to move on the bottom, where they are coupled to a cone-shaped pin that moves up and down sort of like a boost pressure enrichment / LDA device setup. (The parts I don't belive are interchangeable.)
Very simple and self-contained, unlike the VW atmospheric pressure compensator design that relies on an external piece of voodoo equipment and a vacuum pump signal to work.
