I am suspicious of my head gasket letting loose only once I get to 10 psi of boost. I have used the glove on the reserve tank and it never inflates at idle or if I Just Rev IT!
I think I need to get the boost up but how can I do that without tying the back end down to something and slipping the clutch a bunch while holding the throttle down.
Has anyone done this successfully before? I don't want a Darwin Award for launching my Caddy into the house or into the street and take out some poor Escalade.
Thoughts and comments are welcome, just make em reasonable eh?
So you are trying to see how high the pressure is in the coolant reservoir when the boost is at 10psi?
But you can't get boost without load.
Swap to a VNT-15,.. you can get boost of 10 with no load, ha.
Otherwise, a pressure gauge on the coolant line while watching the boost under load might work.
Yeah, I was trying to get it to boost to 10 without it moving. I don't think the e-brake is good enough to hold it at 2800 RPM. I don't have three feet to be able to hold the brake down and slip the clutch while pushing on the accelerator. I might try doing that with a stick, maybe.
I also thought about the boost gauge hooked up to the coolant lines, a tee at the reservoir might be all I need.
