So the fuel delivery is a function of IP diameter area correct? Thus the Ecos were delivering about 80% of what the normal 1.6 9mm shafts were putting out?
No wonder they got mileage, but sucked for any sort of power. And the 1.6 power wasn't anything to write home about either.

The overall fueling potential is a combination of various factors, but the area of the plunger is a big one. The ECO was all about reducing emissions not efficiency, power or fuel economy. They still had a bit more power than the non-turbo 1.6.

No ufo type device on that pump. The LDA looks waaaay different. It has a screw and nut on the top of the device and a place to attach a three mm hose from a turbo to enrich the fuel delivery. Yours doesn't do that regardless of what that person is telling you that is not a TD IP. Period
Go to the bottom of this thread and see the picture, that is an LDA on top of the IP. Clearly not on the one you have.

If the pump you're talking about is the one you posted in a pic in your cabby thread, it is conspicuously MISSING the U.F.O.
Non-turbo 1.6 injection pump...
The pump was not from a GTD (intercooled 1.6TD sold in other markets). It clearly has no boost enrichment.
Were my prior posts on the subject somehow unclear?

Libby, I didn't think so but the extensive reply and the pictures makes me think he still believes the pump is a TD one. He may also believe in Santa Claus. Holiday season you know.
If you look at the upside down pump picture you can kind of imagine it being an LDA, If you cross your eyes and squint at it.

My last post was directed at gersgolfs. Sorry if that came off the wrong way ORCoaster. I actually appreciated you confirming that it wasn't a TD pump because apparently he didn't believe me when I said it.

Gersgolfs, this pic might help. This is a 1.6TD injection pump. Circled in red is the boost fuel enrichment assembly also known as the LDA or U.F.O.
The pump you show obviously does not have that and is not a 1.6TD injection pump. At the risk of being a broken record, it is either a non-turbo injection pump or it is an ECOdiesel injection pump. If you want to know which it is you will need to post up a closeup pic of the numbers engraved in the rectangular part on the side of the pump case.

Libby, I was speaking oddly I guess. I was trying to say he posted all those pictures after you specifically told him it was not a TD pump. I could only find a hazy picture in the forum posts that showed the LDA. If he can't see the difference by looking at the pic you just put up then I would say it is a lost cause.
Some people still believe we live on a flat earth too. I can't understand that being a scientist.
Thanks for finding a quality picture, it is worth 1,000 of our words.

Now now folks , no need to be smart ass. This is my first diesel car and while I appreciate all your replies regarding the pump I don’t appreciate being made out to be some eejit. The only reason I posted more pics was so I am in a position to show your replies to the guy who sold the pump to me in the first place and no I don’t believe in Santa Claus ye gob***e .

When you ask if the dynamic advance piston cap is the boost enrichment UFO after I've said three different times that it does not have any boost enrichment is a bit telling... I'll spare a few more moments to give an amazingly apt analogy. Imagine that you have been a zoologist for 20 years and someone shows you a picture of an animal. It looks a lot like a horse but has black and white stripes. You tell that person that the animal is a zebra. They tell you that the person that sold them the animal told them it was a giraffe. You say that it clearly is not a giraffe as it does not have the long neck or coloring of a giraffe. They come back again and say they talked to the person that sold them the animal and the person said it was a giraffe. You say again, nope, not a giraffe. It has no long neck and does not have the coloring of a giraffe - it is quite clearly a zebra. They come back with more pictures of the animal (upside down and backwards... ). When showing you one picture of the zebras penis they ask... "Is that the giraffe's long neck?" When you reply with a bit of disdain they get all upset at the way that you are talking to them, say you do not need to be a smart ass and call you a gob***e.
At this point I will opt out of attempting to assist you further. Good luck with your cars.
