Thanks Dennis I like them too ,they where a rare find as there 15” wheels and 4x 100 and the offset was 38 . I think I paid 100 euros or so for them which was even better. I did have to get them powder coated though.

Car has come a long way!! I have Estorils on my 96 GTI with a TDI swap. Rare wheels in the states. Passat and Corrado got them.
How is the convertible coming along?
I would love to score a MK1 GTD!! A true one that is.

Thanks Dennis, I actually had a Gtd engine and box for years and I sold it ,my plan was to put it into a mk1 golf. Anyhoo ,I though I’d never get my hands on a inexpensive golf that’s why I sold the engine. I then picked up the cabby gti for 500 euros. I sold the engine and box for €300 the fuel lines and pump for 200 I have an Ahu engine which I was going to put in the cabby but I got my hands on a 1995 golf for €200 which had the aaz engine which now sits in the cabby

Is it ok if I start another build thread separately for the cabby ? Cos I have more pics taken for that too . It might confuse people with me tooing and froing with two cars and lots of different parts

That would be fine if you start another thread for the Cabby.

His comments are pretty funny and rife with misinformation. If the pump you're talking about is the one you posted in a pic in your cabby thread, it is conspicuously MISSING the U.F.O. The plunger/head assembly is the same size for the 1.6 non-turbo and the 1.6TD pumps. All of the 'early' 1.6TD injection pumps had the boost fuel enrichment until the 1.6ECOdiesel at the very end of the Mk2 run. The 1.6ECOdiesel had no boost fuel enrichment and had a smaller plunger/head assembly which makes it even less desirable than a non-turbo pump.

Libby, Do you happen to know the diameter of the smaller plunger and the bar of pressure those Eco Pumps were putting out?
I thought the early 1.5 engines and 1.6 were outfitted with 130 bar injectors. Would those have been put on the eco diesels too.
Other turbo pumps had the 155 if I have my numbers lined up right.

The ECO plunger is 8mm. All of the other 1.6 plungers are 9mm. The opening pressure of the ECO injectors was 155 bar, same as the 'normal' 1.6TD injectors.
