Well i found yet another problme on my golf. The front seal on the IP in leaking. The real problme is i need to drive the car for a little till i get payed which will be two weeks. The timing belt is new.I just want some advice on how long i can get away with it leaking before it kills my timing belt.I do plan to cheak it every day to keep a eye on it.Thanks
doesnt matter,as soon as diesel has contacted the belt its toast
just wait till you can remove the pulley to replace the seal, then put on another new belt after the leak is fixed(seal replacement)
itll be ok to drive it in the mean time, just get er done soon
What else should i replace at the same time.I know the timing belt and seal, but what else should i do?Thanks
should be ok with that
just be sure to thouroughly douche it down with a can of brake cleen, itll blow all the fuel off,and leave a clean surface, maybe scrub around a little with a paintbrush when you are sprayin brake cleen, just concentrate on the area where the fuel is dribbling, doing the belt+ seal will be ok
