This e-bay sale ( 270003609601) claims that the turbo itself is water cooled.
Has anyone heard of this option? or is it 'smoke'?
Thanks

I know there are some watercooled factory turbos on Golfs. Don't know if Garrett or KKK.

I think the factory GTD had water cooled turbo, an electric auxilery water pump for cooling turbo after shutdown, bigger injectors and the intercooler. Some of our English diesel dubbers can probably clarify.

Enginecode RA and SB are 80HP GTD's with a watercooled K14 and intercooler above the gearbox
Nozzles used are DNOSD 274

oops, I shoulda said: "some of our european diesel dubbers" !!
How much boost does a stock GTD get? I was suprised to hear it has the K14.
Is there a GTD and a GTD Special that are different?

Stock boost is about 0.7 bar.
I don't know of any GTD special, I know there was an OETTINGER TD but that is extremely rare.
Here is all the info about models and engines:

It kinda makes me tickles you allways sayin 'GTD boost', 'GTD IC', 'GTD nozzles',...
Just say JR/MF or RA/SB, will ya?
The Golf GTD came up in 1982 with the Mk1, and continued until 1994 or so with the Mk3! It wasn't until 1989 that the RA/SB engines appeared on the Golf. GTD is just a designation for the sporting version.
That one on ebay is a Mk2 CL TD, SB engine, mechanically
the same as the late Mk2 GTD's
And yes, there was a GTD
Special
