that is one beautiful downpipe
That is one sweet down pipe.
One question, how is it going to be braced to the engine? Wouldn't all that movement of the engine even with the flex pipe put a good bit of stress on the turbo flange?
I braced mine to the factory bracket on the exhaust manifold. I just used a 2.5" muffler clamp and modified the bracket to work with the clamp.
One other item of interest. Since I'm still a newby, how long does the flex pipes last? Is it a concern for replacement? If so then maybe it should be attatched to the downpipe via a flange for easy replacement??? So far my flex is in great shape but I only have 15k miles on it.
One thing is for sure, adding a 2.5 inch downpipe will wake up the 1.6L
that does look very nice, I could really do with one of them
would you be able to take some more pics of it fitted, like down around the gear linkage
oh and by the way has anyone from the UK bought one?
how much did it work out with shipping, customs charges, etc?
ta
when i make my "custom downpipes" i weld an extra tab on the dp,so i can use the orig block+tranny brace like the old dual dp has on it,my first one i did without the braces,it lasted less than a year before it cracked, but since ive been usin the braces,i havent had a prob......
Stewardc, Where can I find a cam cover like that? I have been looking for one but not having much luck.
Thanks
It's an aluminum G60 Corrado cover that I had powdercoated. They are available from the dealer for megabucks, but I found one on the Vortex forum.
