It will run fine, the less restriction post turbo the better. However $2k for a car that's clearly been molested doesn't sit right with me.
Since there's no flapper on that stack what happens when it rains? Is the turbo full of rust?

Yeah I asked him the same question about the flapper and I was going to bargain him down quite a lot either way.

If you are expecting to use it for a daily then the hood stack is clearly a problem. Can you legally drive with that obstruction in the front of your view? Back woods beater I would say yeah probably make do but in traffic it is going to cause you trouble. Too expensive with the major modification to the exhaust there.
Inside looks OK, Miles OK but any other modifications to the engine?

Hood stack is fine here in Canada as long as smoke isn't in the windshield. And I've also found out it does have a flapper it just doesn't look like it in the pictures apparently. I'll have to go look at it in person

Well apparently it is a 1.6 td swap with the drivetrain swapped as well as well as a new clutch and timing belt put in 7000km ago. Gonna go check it out and if it's all OK I should have myself a Jetta!

That huge hood stack can really cause distractions. Looks like OP ended up buying it because that is his profile pic.

Maybe he runs a dozer all day and just having there is no biggie to him. I think we all recommended a flapper to keep the water out.
