I've searched the net but haven't found a clear answer..
I have 1.6 td CY code with kkk k14 turbo thats worn out (has some shaft play and leaks oil as crazy)
I want to replace it with fresher unit and i wanna know if i can search units from an AAZ engines.
Is k14 from AAZ straight bolt on to my engine or it needs fabrication to match exhaust, intake, downpipe and oil feed?

yes it should just bolt on, the only thing that would be different is the oil drain, but i think both k14's have the same drain

My k14 is aa watercooled + oil cooled unit, ive came across k14 of an aaz and it was oil cooled only, is that still a direct fit? should i just shut the water hoses untill i rebuild my existing k14? Ive got an offer for a t2 thats watercooled and oil cooled but its quite expensive. Market here in Croatia is pretty bad, people that sell used parts for these TDs usually dont even know what model turbo theyre selling...and those who know usually price them too high...

hello, i've swapped my old k14 with another one, a lot less shaft play and seems to spin more freely by hand. Thing is that exhaust side housing is missing one of the bolts fot downpipe mounting. I've put everything on hoping it wont leak exhaust gasses but it seems to leak smoke a fair bit...
Can i just screw the remaining hole with M8 1,5" bolt?

sounds like you want a special 'grade' hardware, alloy for high heat/turbo usage. either get in contact with VW(online or otherwise) or a turbo shop, and get size.

Yes, you can. I would recommend sealing the threads with Permatex Ultra Copper.

One of the studs for the downpipe? I misunderstood. Get another stud and copper nut. They're dirt cheap.

Yeah, it's stud that i need, sorry but my mechanical terms in english suck, they suck in my mother language as well
I'll try to find the one i need tommorow after i attach that horrible C clamp on exhaust which is major PITA
I'm hoping for healthy 12-15 psi with conservative amount of coal before i put IC and 2,5" on it

that right there seems to be a hard nut to trace down, although i suppose a std exh copper nut will do, im sure its a little more special, and ive tried autohaus, they have flange gasket, but not nut, next try to call partsplace.
