• What is the combined weight of a 1.6 NA engine (ME code) and transmission as it would be lifted out of the vehicle?
  
  Mine a 1991 MK2 Jetta.

• Do you need an exact weight? It's somewhere around 300lbs. I was able to lift a 1.6td across my parking lot and up a flight of stairs by myself. I'm a fairly big guy but I don't workout lol. I'd guess around 225lbs and the tranny is easy 50-75lbs.

• Dry weight of a 1.6 assembled is 180, trans is pretty light under 75lbs IIRC it is 60lbs. so under 300 for sure. Probably around 270

• FWIW, my spare AGS weighs 73.5lbs.

• 300 pounds !! Close enough for my purpose.
  
  I'm building an engine support out of wood.
  A 3/8 inch threaded rod is good for about 600 pounds, so a couple of those is in the safe range.
