• I'm guessing you are using the AAZ transmission?
  
  I think most people either swap the axle flanges on the transmission or swap the inner CV joints. You can buy mk1 100mm axles as well.

• You will need scirocco 16v spindles or 87+ cabriolet ones

• There is a way to put the later MK2 spindles, with the bigger bearing and ball joint into a MK1.
  
    You'd have to do some research on the vortex.
