K03 wastegate for compound build

Hey guys, I'm piecing together stuff for a compound franken motor and I'm thinking of using the aaz k03 as the up turbo. The one I have has the vacuum wastegate override. Would I be able to hook the line up between the two turbos to feed it positive pressure. That way I could set it up to open when the pressure ratio hits 1.7 since I only want it making 10 psi and it would would be ignoring the boost of the first turbo. From my understanding of how that vacuum over ride works it should be ok. What do you guys think?

I think a K03 is too small for anything. Also, I don't know if the aaz came with the k03 I thought they came with the bigger k14

I'm positive it's a k03 but it's different than a gas k03. They came on later aaz's. It has the 3 bolt flange instead of the rectangular k14. I also have a k14 but it's in rough shape, would it be a better match? I'm pretty sure the k03 would be enough for my mild build. It's in the 75% range at the boost and airflow I'm hoping for. If the k14 would be better I'm pretty sure the boost actuators are the same so if it works the way I'm hoping I could swap them.

alcaid or rabbit jockey would have more knowledge than I do on compounds, but the k03 is too small for anything.

yeah its really small, it would work depending on your end power goal, usually all the work that goes into compounds is so you can achieve more boost, power, and efficiency than is possible with a single turbo, which any power that you could make with a k03 in compound would be pretty well possible with a single turbo.
and yeah i think you could connect the wg lines that way, that's how i always thought i'd do it if i built a compound

Honestly my power goal is whatever i can get with the parts i have lying around. Im not looking to make alot of power.i just want a cool motor with compounds on it that works relitively well maybe 150hp at the very max.

what are you using for a large turbo? and i don't think i've ever seen a compressor map for a k03, so i am not sure you're going off of? i think they are even smaller than the k14, i don't even know what hp they could do max by themselves, maybe 130?

I'll have some to look where I found the map. Honestly I'd be happy at 130 hp. I looked at the k14 I have and it's a different style wastegate like the k24 so how would I set that one up? For the big turbo I have either a wastegated t3 or k24 or a non wastegated t4/t3

So I haven't been able to find the k03 map so maybe it was in my head. I recently got offered an aaz that was recently rebuilt. Would I be better off using that instead of a franken motor? The main drove for going with a franken motor was that I had a 1.6 to bottom end and an aaz head hanging around. Which would be better for a mild compound build? I may Dave the franken motor stuff for a future all out kind of build.

The AAZ will be a better platform. Make sure you upgrade the main bolts and you address the crank sprocket.

The crank sprocket is already dealt with, do you me head studs or main bearing bolts?

Main bearings. The AAZ seems to have an issue with mains letting go at higher power levels. Head studs are an excellent idea if you are planning on running compounds though.
