my pickup drivers side door exterior body panel rattles (usually only at idle speeds). Is there a way to tighten the door / body panel to eliminate noise?
Can you actually see the part that's rattling?
If not it's probably the end of the window roller tube.
I try to always wrap foam around the end when working on doors.
its the actual door body panel (not any window or other parts) --- I know this because I can stick my hand thru the door vent and stop the rattling by pressing on the door body.
I can't recall exactly, but there might be an internal rib that runs next to the skin that would have a pad to suppress resonance in the skin. If the pad has fallen out of the gap, the skin might rattle against the rib.
Yep, my driver's door is missing the foam pad. I was able to temporarily quiet the vibration by cramming a portion of towel in the space.
If you can get a pry device between the two pieces, you can get the nozzle of Expansion Foam in and then pull out the pry device. Let sit for 12 hrs and drive rattle free.
