Thx lol i think ill go with 20psi if i can get the dam tubro to build boost...
Boost is not just a number you pick out of your head,or try to get as much as possible.
You need fuel first,to go with the boost, and make it in the first place.
You only need enough air to burn the fuel you have,or it's a waste.
A turbo must be within it's efficiency map,or your not doing any good,no matter how much boost your running. It's not all about pressure.
i have a manual boost controller, and ill let it go closed wastegate,,the idi's will lift somewhere in30-35 psi,,,,thats why i built a tdi,,or get a metalheadgasket+studs,,get studs anyways,,,,i popped 3 or 4 gaskets inmy 84 1.6td,closed wastegate would go about 35,,,but it seemed to pop emmore when ireally cranked up the fuel,,,,,hah ask rabbittree when he drove my car,,we went for a ride,,i told him tobeat it like a stepchild,,well rollinabout 75 or so in it hard,,and the loudest bang you ever heard,,when we pulled over,,the head gasket blew out on 3 sides on number 4 cyl,,yea it wasnt even under the block anymore, itwas funny,,,,but thats a 12mm pump, and closed wastegate,no ic either,,but it ran good,,,,i could tellwhenthe head was lifting,,the water tempwould rise rapidly, and lotsa pressure inthe cooling system,,,,,,ive had them leakafter driving hard, then"reseal" when cold, and with not lots of boost,,be okfor a while,,,,,,,
